Went to Seattle with my son, Staley and his wife, Nikki; to eat at our one of our favorite places, Cafe Flora. They have the best smoked gouda cheesy grits i have ever tasted. Then out to Alki Lightstation. The Head Keepers and assistant Keepers houses still house active duty coast guard although they do not "run" the lighthouse as a keeper would, just live there. The tour was given by reserve Coast Guard. We could go up in the tower but the Fresnel lens it not still in the tower. Beautiful and free since it is kept up and owned by the Coast Guard. We then went to Ghostfish taproom and gastropub. They brew there own gluten free beers which they like. They had taro chips which were delicious. I had Pork Belly with parsnip puree and some kind of sauce that was out of this world. They will be going back as it is close to all the stadiums, so a great place to go for food and beverages before going to the stadium and the high prices there.
I do like Seattle more than i like most big cities as there is lots of greenery and of course Puget Sound is always beautiful I did not go on a whale watch this time because their whale watching trips move around based on where the whales/orcas are during the year. Their orcas as not transient. Everything was much further up north and so next trip up, that will be on the agenda.
So today, i head off on my Olympic Peninsula tour and it may be a couple of days before i am able to catch up on the blog, so bear with me..
