So we are two days after the squirrel attack that the Monarch Sanctuary. There are now no monarchs in the front areas of the cypress trees in the neighbor's yards where they had been before the squirrel attack. There are still a few on the pine behind the cypress where the attack occurred but now they are scattered in smaller clusters throughout the sanctuary. Winds have been whipping through and the pictures are hard to take as the trees and branches are moving soooo much. It is also a little crazy for me to be down amongst the eucalyptus as they can break off limbs easily in these types of winds. And then there is the wonderful rain we have been getting so much of lately. Great because we have been in a drought for so long. However, over saturation of the ground means uprooted trees because the soil becomes so loose it can not support the trees.
