So, this is a brand new female otter that I am calling Arrow, for obvious reasons. But in case it is not obvious to you, look at her nose. The couple of us that watch the otters at the Coast Guard Jetty, have laughed that sometimes what one of us will see in the scar on the nose, the other will see something else. Kinda like otter nose scar inkblots.
This even still looks really pink, so it might have been a recent scarring when she was mating. She is not tagged. And she was eating some crabs with delight. I am looking carefully at her when I see her to see if she might be pregnant but while her nipples look protruding out of her abdomen to me, others say not so. I guess we will see as time progresses.
