Went to Pt Lobos seeking harbor seals which I did not find. However, these herons are always nesting here in the spring and they were starting to fight over nests and materials. This lovely bird was showing off as well as at least 3 others. Worst thing is that where they nest is very hard to get good pictures of with the terrain of the coastline and how high they are up in the pines.
Blue herons are very common here but they do hang out along the coast line easting fish and other things as well. I love how their feathers on their head stick out and wave in the wind.
