There is hardly anything that can sooth my soul like watching a sunset and hear the Pacific Ocean waves against the coast.
While the marine layer keeps you from being able to see the sun go down behind the horizon of the ocean, it still is very beautiful. I love these rocks as this is the area around the Great Tide Pool where Dr. Ed Rickets collected much of his work. Pt Pinos Lighthouse is right behind me as well and Santa Cruz is across the Monterey Bay.
It's also just a few blocks from the Pacific Grove Monarch Sanctuary. I have just been there, checking to see if any monarchs were flying in to roost at the Sanctuary as night fell. Still too warm for them to come into the Sanctuary in clusters yet. But makes it really easy to have the best of two worlds.
